Funding & Vouchers
Nursery Education Funding Scheme
We are registered to provide the Government free place for 3 & 4 year olds (formerly the Nursery Education Grant). This entitles a child to free nursery education for a maximum of 12.5 hours a week from the term after their 3rd birthday.
However we have joined a pathfinder scheme which will increase the entitlement due to each child to a maximum of 15 hours a week. This is effective from September 2007.
As a private day nursery we apply for the funding on your behalf, but in order to receive the funding and take up your free entitlement you will need to prove you child's age, so please ensure we have a copy of your child's birth certificate or passport. You will be given the appropriate forms to complete during the term prior to your child becoming eligible for any funding.
Current legislation also allows for limited funding for children aged 2 if you are in receipt of various benefits. Please ask the Nursery Manager or Deputy for details if you think you may be able to benefit from this support scheme funding.
Childcare Vouchers
Childcare vouchers are exempt from national insurance and tax up to the value of £55 per week, so it is possible for you to save up to £1,195 per annum; or up to £2,390 if both parents belong to a scheme.
The vouchers are provided through your employer and benefit them too because the NI exemption applies to both Employee's and Employer's NI payments.
We are currently registered with most recognised voucher schemes, although we are happy to register with, and accept vouchers from new schemes also.
