KEYCARER

Keycarer

When your child joins Wonderland they will be assigned a keycarer who you will meet during settling in sessions. The keycarer is responsible for welcoming and looking after your child and ensures that their care is tailored to meet individual needs. Your child’s keycarer will offer a secure base to enable your child to explore the wide range of activities planned to support their development. Alongside this the keycarer will provide you with a familiar contact to assist with any queries that may arise and to give you feedback about your child’s time at nursery.

Your child’s keycarer will observe your child during play and will liaise with you about their stage of development, current interests and likes and what the possible next steps might be. The keycarer will then plan activities to support your child towards these next steps, assess their progress, update their learning journal and then share this with you each month. We welcome your own observations and comments and will add these to your child’s journal.

When the time comes for your child to move to the next age group then your keycarer will be on hand to support you and your child to make the transition as smooth as possible.
