Third in Charge
We are looking for a full-time person who is enthusiastic and passionate about childcare and is looking to take the next steps in their career. You must have a good knowledge of child development and a sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
The successful candidate must hold an NVQ level 3 qualification and have had at least 2 years supervisory experience, managing staff and caring for children under the age of 5.
Are you interested in a career in childcare? Would you like to work alongside experienced practitioners while studying towards a level two childcare qualification? All training and individual tutoring sessions will be held at the nursery during your working hours. Uniform provided, full induction and training opportunities, paid holidays for 20 days per year plus bank holidays, an enhanced DBS check will be required.

We fully support both new and current members of our team to refresh and develop their skills.
Induction and regular reviews ensure team members are aware of their role and responsibilities and provide opportunities to reflect on achievements and discuss ongoing support or training needs.
First Aid - All our full time staff are paediatric first aid trained and this is refreshed every three years. In addition all members of the management team undergo first at work training.
Staff and team meetings – these are held regularly and provide an opportunity to reflect on any challenges faced and a chance to discuss ongoing developments to further enhance our nursery.
Policies and procedures – these are regularly reviewed by the whole team.
Additional training for staff is organised locally via Young in Herts or in-house.
